Edward Nulton, Firefighter

Last Call: September 19, 2019

Kunkle firefighter Edward Nulton, 60, responded to an accident just after 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, 2018, along Route 29 in Monroe Township in Wyoming County, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.


He was directing traffic at the scene when he was struck by a dump truck.

Nulton suffered critical injuries from the collision, including a traumatic brain injury. He was unable to recover from the accident and died on Thursday, the USFA stated.


"He wasn’t just a fireman, he was part of our family," the Kunkle Fire Company stated in an online release. "Ed was a model part of our department that can never be replaced. His impact on our lives will forever be planted in our minds."
