Emotions run high on the first day of school, but for one family, it was especially difficult. The Scherlan family lost their father, Justin, earlier this fall. The late police officer died from complications resulting from an on-duty injury. As a surprise, his fellow law enforcement members showed up to escort Scherlan's children on their first day of school. Once inside, his son, Jackson, captured hearts by hugging his father's co-workers as they lined the hallways remembering Justin.
